What is your most recent book and what is it about? I have 14 things that I'm working on right now, but the one that is the furthest done is called "God's Earth." It is a sort of fictional autobiographical memoir of a man who leaves his Virginia home just after returning from the Civil War, heads west and ends up in place after place that he would have never expected, including living among the Osage, working as a silver and gold miner, and later, as a scout and aid to General George Armstrong Custer, attempting to thwart Custer's plans against the Native Americans.
If you had to do it all over again, would you change anything in your latest book? In the one I'm working on, no, but in my last completed book, yes. I would have made it longer instead of trying to rush it to meet a deadline.
How did you come up with the title? All of my titles just come to me.
Did you learn anything from writing your book and if so what was it? For my current project, yes. I've learned a little bit about Osage culture.
What are your current projects? "God's Earth," "Death at My Door: The Secret Life of Benjamin Marks," "Take These Guns from Me," "Eternal Desire," and 10 others.
Do you recall how your interest in writing originated? I think it started when I was very young from my love for reading.
What inspired you to write your first book? a movie that I watched and just wanting to see if I could do it
Who is your favorite author and what is it that really strikes you about their work? I like so many, so it's hard to say, and I honestly wish that I read more.
Are there any new authors that have grasped your interest? I haven't read much in some time. I've been so busy that I haven't found time for it.
Out of everything you've written what is your favorite work to date? I would have to say that my current book, "God's Earth," though incomplete is my favorite.
Do you have any advice for other writers? Get started. Don't put it off. Do everything that you can to get something done. You can always revise and edit later. Write! Write! Write! Also, just try to enjoy what you do.
Do you have anything specific that you want to say to your readers? If you've actually read anything that I've written, thank you so much. I hope that you've enjoyed it. I hope that I've entertained/inspired you in some way.
Where is the best place for readers to find your book? Amazon.com and smashwords.com
Do you have a website? Yes. It is http://www.authorjasonwallace.webs.com/
